Workshops

BSU CityLab provides professional development programs to strengthen the knowledge base and skills of in-service and pre-service teachers.  Registering for a three-credit graduate course, when offered, is the recommended route to full training in BSU CityLab protocols and pedagogy.  Teachers who have completed sufficient training are encouraged to borrow lending labs of the curriculum modules for use in their own classrooms.

From time to time, BSU CityLab faculty offer in-service workshops to introduce teachers to the inquiry-based modules and biotechnology equipment.  This is highly recommended for school systems registering several first-time visits of teachers and their classes.  The Science Department head or the district's Science curriculum coordinator should contact BSU CityLab to inquire about scheduling a morning or afternoon workshop.  Participating teacher will receive certificates toward PDPs.
