Modules Available

The following curriculum modules are offered by BSU CityLab

during the school year.  They are available as in-house programs for school groups who opt to visit the Bridgewater State College campus.  They are also available as lending laboratories for teachers who have completed training in BSC CityLab protocols and pedagogy.

Lab Larceny, most appropriate for high school Biology classes

Crucial Concentration*, most appropriate for middle school Science classes

Mystery of the Crooked Cell*, most appropriate for middle school Science classes

* Programs based on modules designed by Boston University School of Medicine's CityLab faculty and staff.

Also see Modules in Development.

Teachers are strongly encouraged to become familiar with the hands-on activities and teaching philosophy of BSU CityLab prior to bringing students.  Pre-lab and post-visit materials are provided (see Resources) for most of the modules to help students and teachers maximize experiential learning during their CityLab visit.  In addition, professional development workshops and graduate-level courses are offered that enable classroom teachers to borrow CityLab equipment for use at their schools (see Lending Laboratories).

Teachers and students participating from their schools can connect, via the Resources section of this website, to BSU CityLab's fictional subsidiary research companies.  Some of the modules are based on scenarios in which the students are "hired" by the Bridgewater Animal Forensic Laboratory (BAFL) or the Forensics Institute of Bridgewater (FIB).  These pages provide . . ..
