journals to one of the world's largest providers of scientific, technical and
medical (STM) literature. | (2)
STN. Databases available are CA (Chemical Abstracts 1967-present),
CAOLD (pre-1967 citations, limited coverage), and the Registry (a chemical structure
and dictionary database). Hours of operation for searching are 5pm to 5am the
following day, Monday through Friday; 5pm Friday till 6pm Saturday; 8am Sunday-5am
the following Monday. |
| (3)
Medline. The premier database for articles from medical journals from
around the world. This version also contains the full text for 80 biomedical journals. |

Excellent Science Databases on the Web |
| HighWire.
As a research university with an excellent life science research faculty and an
extraordinary medical school and hospitals, Stanford is vitally interested in
the communication of research results. The journals HighWire supports correspondingly
focus on science, technology, and medicine (STM) and are preponderantly among
the highest-impact journals in the literature. |
| Scirus.
Scirus is the most comprehensive science-specific search engine on the Internet.
Driven by the latest search engine technology, Scirus searches over 150 million
science-specific Web pages, enabling you to quickly pinpoint scientific, technical
and medical data on the web; find the latest reports, peer-reviewed articles and
journals; and locate university sites and scientists' home pages that other search
engines miss. Scirus has proved so successful at locating science-specific results
on the Web that the Search Engine Watch Awards voted Scirus 'Best Specialty Search
Engine' in 2001 and 2002. |
