Frank Gorga received his B.S.
in Biology from Adelphi University and his Ph.D. in Biochemistry
from Dartmouth College. After a post-doctoral fellowship at Harvard
University, Dr. Gorga embarked on an academic career that has taken
him to a number of academic institutions. Dr. Gorga joined Bridgewater
State College in 1997. He is currently a Professor of Chemistry
and the Chair of the Department of Chemical Sciences.
Dr.
Gorga and his students use both biochemical techniques and organic synthesis to
investigate problems in the areas of biochemical virology and oncology and in biological
signal transduction. In addition to teaching Biochemistry, Dr. Gorga teaches Organic
Chemistry and a course entitled "Computers in Chemistry". In his spare time Dr. Gorga is often found either
in his workshop where making small wooden boxes is his specialty or at his cabin (no
running water or electricity) in New Hampshire. |
