Jeff Bowen received his B.S. and M.S. in Animal
Science from Cal Poly University in California and his Ph.D. in Vet. Anatomy from Texas
A&M University where he was trained in Cell Biology and Reproductive Physiology. While a post-doctoral fellowship at the University
of Kansas Medical Center, Dr. Bowen spent his summers working at the Marine Biological
Laboratories in Woods Hole, MA. Dr. Bowen joined Bridgewater State College in 1999. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Biology
and Director of the Image Analysis Laboratory.
Dr.
Bowen and his students use in vitro techniques and various microscopy techniques to
investigate the interaction between the embryo and uterus during pregnancy in domestic
animals. Dr. Bowens lab also
investigates potential anti-cancer compounds developed by BSCs Chemistry Department. Dr. Bowen teaches Introductory Biology to
non-biology majors and a variety of courses to Biology majors. |
