Proposals may address the conference subject (DNA and Health) from any perspective, including, but not limited to:

  • NCRR/NIH Research goals
  • Clinical trial process
  • Safeguards
  • Specific health-related subjects
  • Simulate the interest of K-12 students in the scientific processes involved in basic and clinical research with innovative, inquiry-based programs whose goal is to increase the number of students, particularly members of minority and underrepresented groups, who will pursue careers in the biomedical sciences.
  • Hands-on activities at that teach inquiry-based thinking about health-related subjects such as brain/behavior, nutrition/exercise/obesity, stem cells/tissue engineering/regenerative medicine, etc.
    Focus on health-related research and the clinical trial process. Education of the general public on the clinical trials process and of the safeguards provided for patients participating in these trials.
