The title of my book is America’s
Romance with the English Garden. Ohio University Press will publish it in May
of 2013.
The idea behind the book is
that the seed and nursery catalogs included articles and images about English
garden design at the same time they were marketing seeds and plants. The American
middle class accepted that design, throughout the century, but especially after
1870, the start of the Victorian era.
