CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT

Do we dare to fully explore the history of all those who "dreamed" that one day America would fulfill its promise that "all men are created equal" This module celebrates the great figures in the movement but also goes beyond them to highlight how scores of ordinary men and women put their lives on the line to achieve this dream. We move beyond standard interpretations of the movement, focusing instead on new scholarship which emphasizes the movement within its historical context.
