Who/What we are:  We are the coming together of new ideals - a counter culture that questions the issues and is willing to work for positive change.

The motivation for positive change comes from our various beliefs.  Beliefs in alternative transportation;  bikes, boards and buses.  Beliefs in the rights of animals not to be treated cruelly.  The belief that ALL humans have a right to be treated fairly and that mother nature has a right to grow purely.  We believe that the food we eat should be safe and identifiable. We believe that we are the best ones to decide what goes into our bodies.  We also believe in peace.

The world can and should know peace.  Peace means respect for others regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or social status.  Peace means finding a respectful way to work through these differences.  It also means not treading on others' rights to a healthy sustainable future by respecting the earth.

A few intelligent and motivated students joined together and began REAPS in the fall of 2003 in the hopes of bringing a forum to campus where students can go and not only discuss what is happening in the world around them and seek answers to the confusing and frustrating questions of these times, but also to take part in the shaping of their political and natural environment.  This website has been established as a stepping stone for individuals to learn more information about current events, national and global tragedies and possible actions.  It is also intended to be a place where students can learn how to become connected with their community,  Bridgewater State College, Massachusetts, USA, and abroad.

REAPS means many things.  The best way to communicate these meanings is as an acronym such as Renewing Environmental And Political Sense, or one could replace Environmental with Educational and so on-- it is whatever the members feel is important to maintaining peace.  Within the name is the implication of danger in our nation and planet's current direction-- the lack of sense, reason, and honesty
