MARC - Parent Presentations

Most of the time, MARC's daytime services are free of charge and supported by grants & other monies. Evening program requests sometimes are grant-supported but often have a cost.

As part of our effort to improve school culture, we offer presentations for parents, Parent Teacher Organizations, and community groups.  MARC parent and community education evenings feature presentations either by Dr. Elizabeth Englander or by one of our MARC Parent Presenters.  The MARC Parent Presenters are a team of mostly Master's-level clinicians and researchers who have been trained in a presentation on how parents can help prevent, and cope with, bullying and cyberbullying issues with their own children.

Dr. Englander's presentations are more tailored to the individual needs and wants of the community, and usually involves both an easy-to-understand update on typical online activities of children, internet safety (including cyberbullying), and how parents can work with their children and their schools in both bullying and cyberbullying situations.

With any presenter, the emphasis will be on practical, concrete knowledge, and parents do not need to be computer experts to become more aware of how to help their children navigate the online world safely.  It is also imperative that parents understand how to approach schools for help effectively and how to assist school administrators successfully resolve bullying situations.
