How do we choose these books?

MARC isn't a literary outlet, and we didn't evaluate these books based on their literary merit.  Instead, these books are evaluated for how well they adhere to state of the art research in bullying prevention.

For example, the most current research strongly suggests that bullying is most frequently accomplished today via subtle psychological behaviors - not through physical manhandling.  So we evaluated books based on how well they adhere to this principle!  If a book portrays bullying as a physical attack, it may not be as relevant for children today.
