BLANK CANVAS: VENICE EXHIBITION

The aim of this project was to design a 3 dimensional model of an exhibition about any topic of your interest.

I made my exhibition on the graffiti of Venice Beach , California. I choose this subject matter because i have been to Venice and seen some of the work. Ilove how colorful it all is and how it really reflects the culture of that area.
I titled the exhibition Blank Canvas: Venice to reference how the city is like one big canvas. I wanted to create a fun, laid-back space where visitors would want to spend time and socialize.

I decided the backdrop for the exhibition should be very simple to avoid making the space too busy. The graffiti is very vibrant so i stuck with white for the walls and a polished concrete floor across the entire space with the exception of a sandy floored area in the lounge corner. To display the work i have a few curved walls that do not extend all the way to the ceiling they created a path to move through the gallery, but also add visual interest.

I feel like i’ve learned alot from this project because it was the first time i have ever done any project like this. I really enjoyed it and i learned about planning of space and craftsmanship.
