Senior Seminar: Side project 1

Due: Thursday April 14th by the beginning of class as a printout.

Description:

In a double spaced 1-2 page paper (two pages absolute maximum) answer the following:

Suppose you are a startup building an app. Your business people have decided that GitHub will serve as your software repository. Describe the steps that you will need to take to gain protection for the following:

your code
The trademarks/service marks for your company and app.
Your brand new way of processing data that gives your apps an advantage over competitors

Then tell me how you will arrange to allow users to use your code while you retain ownership of it. Explain the mechanism you will use and why you chose that approach. (Keep in mind you are using GitHub so factor that into your decision)
