BAM! Student Theater Festival

HARVEY, directed by Dion Rose

Harvey is the story of Elwood P. Dowd, who makes friends with a spirit taking the form of a human-sized rabbit named Harvey that only he sees (and a few privileged others on occasion also). After his sister tries to commit him to a mental institution, a comedy of errors ensues. Elwood and Harvey become the catalysts for a family mending its wounds and for romance blossoming in unexpected places.

Performing Wednesday, 2/27 at 8pm; Friday, 3/1 at 8pm; and Saturday, 3/2 at 2pm

Recommended for all ages.

HELLO AGAIN, directed by Prof. Larry Sousa

The joys of sex are here for the asking in this adult musical fantasy suggested by Arthur Schnitzler's La Ronde. As though seen through the lens of a combination time machine and bawdy, old-time kinescope, Hello Again crisscrosses beds and jumps from decade to decade, intimately examining the painful secrets that drive characters into each other's arms and towards the bruising effects of reckless passion. With a score that saturates the mind, Hello Again has an unforgettable, dreamlike quality—and all the luxuriance of an insistent seduction.

Performing Thursday, 2/28 at 8pm; Saturday, 3/2 at 8pm; Sunday 3/3 at 2pm

For mature audiences ONLY!

THE SKINFLINT OF THE SILVER SCREEN

This adaptation of Moliere's The Miser moves from Harpagon's cavernous mansion in 17th Century France to a B-Movie Studio in Hollywood's Golden Age. The Metro-Gold-Myzer studio tilts on the edge of bankruptcy and re-brands itself as The Rainbow Studios, under the same management of LB Myzer - Hollywood's cheapest skinflint! To cut costs, LB hires mostly family members to staff his studio, and when not wrestling money from the penny-pinching hands of their boss, the staff and stars of this studio are filming epics on shoestring budgets. Throughout the play, the studio is under renovation by a studio decorator and her slapstick employees. LB dreams of marrying off his starlet daughter to magnate Mr. Bianselme, saving his studio from bankruptcy.
