Registration:    Registration is in person on site only.  The tournament is limited to 20 participants on a first-come first-served basis.  Click here for a printable registration form.

Format:    The tournament will follow a Swiss pairings format.  In this format, no one is eliminated; every participant plays in every round and you are paired with opponents of approximately the same playing strength as yourself.  The tournament will consist of five regular rounds, with a tiebreaker round to be played only if necessary.

Scoring:    When you win a game you get 1 point.  If you lose a game you get 0 points.  If the game is drawn each player receives 1/2 point.  The player with the most points at the end of the tournament wins!

Time Control:    A time limit of 40 minutes has been established for each round.  Chess Clocks will be used to time each round.  Clocks are provided by the tournament directors.  Each player in a game will have 20 minutes of playing time resulting in a total game time of 40 minutes.  The game ends when one player is checkmated, the game is drawn, or one of the players runs out of time.

Touch Move:  This tournament will follow the touch move rule.  Touch move is a common tournament rule.  In touch move if you touch a piece, you MUST move that piece.  Touch move applies even if you touch a piece by accident.

Entry Fee:    There is no registration fee for this event.  Participation is free to all, but the tournament is limited to 20 players on a first-come first served basis.
