Several students are in favor of group work.
I feel that making mathematics easier is like making weight lifting easier. To lift 5 pound weights easily, you would engage in a program of training that resulted in your being able to lift 10 pound weights. If your weight lifting workout is "easy", you're not challenging yourself. The same goes for math! (In math as in weight lifting, it is also possible to harm a student by asking her or him to do something beyond her or his current ability.)
