Three words to describe Dr. Miller: Father. Teacher. Friend. My first introduction to geography was through Dr. Miller. It was the summer of 1997. I was a firefighter unfulfilled with my career, wishing to do something else. After having a conversation with Dr. Stewart and Dr. Clark about pursuing a career in meteorology, they suggested I study geography to get myself started on that track. I immediately enrolled in Dr. Miller's Introduction to Human Geography course. Not only did I love the class, but Dr. Miller's knowledge and passion turned me on to the social science component of geography.

I loved my experience at Bridgewater State College. The combined education and guidance provided by Dr. Miller, Dr. Domingo, Dr. Clark, Dr. Hayes-Bohanen, and Dr. Aten yielded the strong and determined professional that I am today. I am gainfully and happily employed in my chosen career of transportation planning. Dr. Miller had a huge influence on my development, and it was his passion that hooked me into geography in the first place. Without him, I wouldn't be where I am today. I'll always miss
