I am so happy to see this homage to Dr. Miller. I feel privileged to have been part of his last class. I was happy to learn that he was an avid WHO fan. I am an ex rock singer myself. I appreciated his rendition of Paul McCartney's 'oohs' from "She Loves You", when we watched the geography of rock and roll video. He actually had a really good voice. I was in awe of his repertoire of facts, but most of all, his sense of humor. The younger students in the class didn't get some of his lines. I did, and then became the one person rolling in the aisles at times. His class was a joy. It was special, because he was.
I guess the expression that best fits Dr. M's spirit is "What a World!". He exemplified 'wonder'. He remained ever curious, ever hungry to learn and discover. His class, his strength and his courage moved me, motivated me. I made a special trip to PA early in the summer, hitting Gap before finally reaching Intercourse. I miss him, yet I hardly knew him. That is the mark of a man.
