CALL FOR ABSTRACTS!

DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO MARCH 6, 2009!

We invite research abstracts for both papers and posters that focus on child and family programs, interventions, preventions, rules/regulations, and policies. Research that has strong implications for child and family programs and policies are also invited. Conference topics are open, but may include: 

  • Adoption
  • Aging families
  • Child care
  • Child maltreatment
  • Child welfare system
  • Divorced families
  • Early Intervention/Head Start
  • Education programs/policy
  • Family care giving, including “sandwich generation”
  • Family composition (blended/step, never-married, same-sex, adopted)
  • Family income supports
  • Family policy-making
  • Family violence / partner violence
  • Home visiting
  • Intergenerational family issues
  • Marriage and marriage policy
  • Military families
  • Parenting education
  • Prevention programs
  • School – family connection
  • Work-family life/balance
  • Working with policy-makers

Guidelines for Abstract Preparation:

  • Abstracts should be no more than 250 words

  • The research questions / purpose of study should be clearly stated

  • The methodology should be clearly presented

  • Statement should include preliminary results

  • The implications for child and family policy or programming should be clearly stated by the author(s)

We recommend that you prepare your abstract in a separate document (such as Microsoft Word, Word Perfect, Notepad) and then copy and paste the abstract into the abstract submission form. Once you have written your abstract and you are ready to make a submission, follow this link:
