2 Use two simple shapes to give the collage unity.   You will need to use at least 12 cut shapes for your collage.  More may be better.

3.  Produce variety by overlapping or changing the size, color or visual texture of each shape.

4.  Use photo-cropping to give the feeling that your collage extends beyond the edge of the picture plane.  

5.  The collage should have no negative spaces. ( The background paper should be completely covered with collage materials.)  Shapes should be cropped at the edge of the picture plane to retain a neat edge and the 4" x 10" picture plane size.

6.  Visually textured shapes cut from magazine pages should be an important aspect of your collage.  Some shapes can have flat color to add contrast to the textured areas.

7.  The collage must be non-representational.

8.  Neatness counts.  

9.  Title your collage.  Be sure to consider part number 7 when you choose your title.

10.  List two collages found in your text.  Give the artists name and the title of the artwork.
