Exemplary Literacy Practice:
 Phonics, Phonological Awareness, and Phonemic Awareness

Will students in Grade One, who participate in activities which promote the alphabetic principle, develop word learning (decoding) and spelling strategies as measured by the Phonemic Awareness Assessment (Adams, Foorman, Lundberg, & Beeler, 1998), the Developmental Reading Assessment (Beaver, 2001), and the Developmental Spelling Assessment (Gentry, 2004)?
