Faculty Members Attended NCA Convention in November 2000

The CC 130 program was featured as a College Spotlight at the National Communication Association's (NCA) 86th Annual Convention on November 9-12, 2000 at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center in Seattle, Washington. The workshop featured the team who developed the program of computer-mediated supplemental materials for the course, Dr. Susan A Holton, Professor Estelle Wenson and Dr. William Singleton of Information Services; Professor David Wilson adjunct professor in Communication Studies and Assistant to the President, was unable to attend. They presented a program, Not by Ourselves alone: Engaging Cross-Discipline, Cross-Division Teams to Maximize Learning, focusing on the "Linking Learning: Linking Lives" theme of this course.

Dr. Nancy Street was part of a panel at the National Communication Association (NCA) Convention on "Parliamentary Procedure and New Technology: Deliberations in a Digital Age."

Dr. Jabbar Al-Obaidi attended communication conference in Jordan

Dr. Jabbar Al-Obaidi traveled to Irbid/Amman, Jordan to deliver a paper for the Fifth Annual AUSACE (Arab-U.S. Association for Communication Educators) International Conference & The First Yarmouk University International Communication Conference.

President Tinlsey was part of a group that toured an exhibit arranged by BSC's Chief Information, Officer Bill Davis, for the state's Board of Higher Education, which met at Bridgewater on November 17th, and also for the college's Board of Trustees, which met on campus the following day. The exhibit, which took place in the Campus Center, featured several faculty projects now in progress at Bridgewater which employ new approaches to teaching and learning that use significant amounts of technology. The CC 130 project is sponsored by the Davis Educational Foundation.
