The Communication Studies and Theatre Arts Department consists of two components - Theatre and Communication. To find out more about the Theatre Arts part of the department, contact one of the Theatre Arts faculty (noted below).

The Communication Studies area faculty are teachers as well as scholars. Half of the professors have written books; all have done research in their field of study. And all of the faculty are actively involved in scholarship in their field.

The Department faculty include:

The Communication Studies courses provide both theoretical knowledge and practical experience in a variety of communication venues. As a Communication Studies major, you have a number of options. From our vast array of courses, you can concentrate in Mass Communication, Organizational Communication, Public Relations or Communication Studies. You can also take courses in all four concentration areas and come away with a true generalist background. If you are studying to be a teacher, you can also concentrate in the Certification for Speech, Theatre and Dance.

For more information about the Department, go to our Web page, or see any of the individual faculty. All of us would love to talk with you about the department!
