Thursday’s exam will consist of some of the following.

1. How would you define “obscenity” and “pornography? What are some typical problems with defining these terms?

2. Should the government ban pornography? Is there are right to see/read pornography?

3. Assess McElroy’s argument that feminists should not argue in favor of censorship.

4. Outline the basic framework of just-war theory. How does it differ from pacifism and realism?

5. Under what conditions, if any, is preemptive war justified?

6. What is terrorism? Assess the morality of terrorism.

7. Assess the argument in favor of open immigration.

8. What are the pluses and minuses of trade? Does trade harm or benefit developing nations?

9. How would you define exploitation? Are sweatshops exploitive? If so, should they be banned?

10. How much foreign aid should rich nations give to poorer nations? What are the best ways to help the developing world?
