Realizing that students have vastly differing skill and comfort levels with computers and technology, the opening weeks of the semester will allow everyone to get on the same (web) page, serving either as a primer or refresher on Internet skills.

Using a mixture of readings and activities, you’ll be introduced to or reacquainted with e-mail and attachments, Netiquette, Internet terminology and concepts, Web research methods and source evaluation, and basic HTML and web page creation. The skills learned during this section serve as a foundation for the balance of the course.

This section will culminate in the development of student web sites that will be shared in class.
